What is the difference between 3G mobile broadband coverage and Virgin mobile phone coverage?
3G mobile broadband is a faster network allowing you to browse the internet and download applications. It is a more complex, expensive, technical network and is therefore more difficult to build good coverage as a consequence. Virgin mobile coverage relies on 1G and 2G networks, allowing users to make telephone calls and send text messages across networks. It's a lot easier to build up good network coverage on 1G and 2G networks.
It is worth checking both Virgin mobile coverage map and 3G mobile broadband coverage separately before buying your mobile phone as they can differ significantly from each other from area to area.
Virgin mobile covers 99.4% of the UK population, ensuring they get the Virgin mobile network coverage they want. Virgin 3G network covers 85%. Consumers should also check their Virgin mobile coverage map with Virgin mobile. By making a simple call in order to establish their Virgin mobile coverage, consumers could save themselves a lot of hassle. Alternatively, consumers can check the Virgin mobile website in order to establish Virgin mobile coverage. When checking coverage, consumers may be asked to enter their postcode. This does not mean that Virgin can then send you junk mail so consumers should enter their postcode. Alternatively, consumers may be asked to check out their area on a map, which will then give consumers an idea of their Virgin mobile phone coverage.
Virgin mobile coverage is important to consumers who expect their phone to be able to keep up with them. Today’s society relies on communication- whether that’s being able to keep up with the office on the way to a meeting, or chatting to friends on the go, mobile phones need to work wherever they are taken. Understanding what your Virgin mobile network coverage is whilst out and about is essential to knowing where you will be likely to be able to communicate and where you may have difficulty.
Consumers can run into network difficulty anywhere- whether that’s as they live in a hard to access area or just that they live in a valley, Virgin mobile coverage is not always guaranteed.
Before buying a mobile phone, consumers should check with their friends and family what their Virgin mobile coverage is. Not only this, but consumers should also check with their networks and other sites which may give this information. As well as this, consumers should check not only their home address but other areas which they frequently visit in order to ensure they have Virgin mobile network coverage.
Love it or hate it, we want to know what coverage you get, how it affects you and your thoughts on your network!

Impressed with Mobile Internet
When i bought my first smartphone I was worried that the coverage would be pretty shocking, as a few mates have mentioned that their coverage took a bit of a hit when they got smartphones. All I can say is that Virgin Mobile have been really great with me and my coverage hasn't suffered at all. I get good signal where I am (Leeds) for calls and texts and internet. Anyone worried about making the switch should just do it it's well worth it
